Trinity Presbytery

REPORT OF THE PERMANENT TASK FORCE ON ORDAINED CLERGY

To Trinity Presbytery

16 February 2018

Meeting at the Freeport Presbyterian Church

The Task Force met with all members present. All are actively involved in the work of the Task Force.

The Task Force devoted considerable time to written complaints received from members of the Bertram congregation. Since those members have since left the congregation it was decided to let the Board of Missions oversee the situation for the present time and report to the presbytery.

Some concern was expressed about Jeff Gehle needing to notify the proper presbyterial body when he is aware of issues involving ministers and or congregations of the presbytery.

The Task Force attempted to contact all retired ministers of the presbytery to check on them. We also seek to be in touch with other ordained ministers who have needs.

Several ministers have serious health issues need our prayers: Harold Bone, Kevin Colvard, Hugh Hannah, Hugh Parsons, and Bill Rustenhaven.

Kevin Colvard plans to move to Cleveland, TN to be near family. He has asked for Honorably Retired status.

Recommendation: That the Rev. Kevin Colvard be granted Honorably Retired status.

Mark Davenport sent a brief report of his activities. He works as a hospice chaplain and is filling the pulpit for the Jefferson congregation.

Mark McNeese has recovered from his surgery, but limits his travel

Attempts to contact David Smith and Robert Weston were not successful.

Sam Wayman is better and available for pulpit supply near LaGrange.

Respectfully submitted,

The Permanent Task Force on Ordained Clergy
