REPORT OF THE PRESBYTERY COUNCIL

Your Presbytery Council met on August 23, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Texas. Present were: Shannon Martin, Board of CE; J. P. Kessie, Committee on Probationers; Rusty Rustenhaven, Committee on Judicial Concerns; Steve Turner, Board of Missions; Brian Martin, Board of Finance; Lezlie Daniel, Taskforce on Theological and Social Concerns; Marcia Ross, Taskforce on Ordained Clergy; James Cantey, Vice-Moderator; Fredy Diaz, Moderator; Paula Hayes, Stated Clerk.

The opening prayer was given by Moderator Fredy Diaz.

In preparation for the business meeting, Moderator Diaz led the members of the Council as each prayed for the individual churches in Trinity.

It was decided that a Pastor Retreat would be planned for October 3rd or 4th, 2014, to meet in Buffalo, Texas at the Webb ranch.

It was decided that Marshall CPC and the three Longview churches would have Session members meet with Rev. Jeff Gehle on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Elmira Chapel CPC. At which time they can discuss the needs of the churches and possible steps to take to meet those needs. At 1:00 PM on the same day, the Presbytery Council will meet with Rev. Gehle to discuss with him the position of Director of Evangelism and Outreach and the expected outcomes of such a position.

Recommendation 1: That Trinity Presbytery set aside the last Sunday of September as a day of prayer for the churches of Trinity Presbytery.

The following meeting dates, times and sites were set for 2014.
