The financial activity of the board for 2017 was received and reviewed.

Promotion for camps, retreats, and events for 2018 was reviewed. Continued traditional methods of promoting events will be utilized in addition to posts to social media. We have asked Gloria Villa Diaz to help with contacting CPCA churches.

Brian Martin reported on plans for the 2018 Presbytery camp at Gilmont. The theme will be “Grow” and he is again developing the curriculum that will be used at this year’s camp. The dates for camp are set for June 10 – 15, 2018 and the cost is set at $300 for those registered by April 30, 2018. After that date the fee is $325 until May 31st when it rises to $350. Registration forms will be sent to previous campers and churches the first week of March.

Fredy Diaz reported on the Winter Retreat that was held January 13 – 15, 2018 at Camp Gilmont. The focus of the retreat was developed around the theme of “Developing Spiritual Intelligence to do God’s will”. There were 35 youth and 17 adults in attendance. In addition to the worship, small groups, crafts, and recreation activities, participants were informed about presbyterial support for those wanting to pursue a call to ministry.

Registration for CPYC to be held at Bethel University June 24 – 29, 2018 will open in March. Participation is for youth entering 9th grade through those graduating in 2018.

Transportation for our participants will be by chartered bus. It is essential that after registering for CPYC that Charelle Webb be notified so that plans can be finalized in a timely manner.

Transportation for Youth Advisory Delegates to General Assembly in Norman, Oklahoma June17 – 21, 2018 will be arranged by Charelle Webb. The approved Youth Delegates are Daniela Macias and Natalia Rodriguez. Chloe Martin is the alternate.

The board also reviewed future denominational events including a Young Adult Retreat scheduled for March 23 – 29 at Montgomery Bell Park and a Youth Evangelism Conference to be held February 16- 18, 2019 in Nashville. We also received a communication from Nathan Wheeler reviewing the Kaleo program. This is a one year program to help young people ages 16 –19 explore their calls to ministry and vocation. He asked us to consider a future commitment of a $1000 donation toward providing scholarships for two future participants from our presbytery.

The board heard a request from the Concord CPC to allow Duane Dougherty to train an elder to serve communion in that congregation after his retirement this summer.

Recommendation No. 1 That Rev. Duane Dougherty be approved to train an elder in the Concord CPC to administer the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to the congregation of that church for a period of one year.

In other business the board has planned a retreat for camp staff for April 20 – 22, 2018 at the Webb’s property near Buffalo, Texas. It will start Friday evening and end after lunch on Sunday. We hope to have Kip Rush meet with us.
